Charles River Rugby Gives Back at Cradles to Crayons

During our volunteer visit we sorted through donated clothes at Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory. Our job was to create outfits for specific age groups and put them together in clothing packs. In just two hours we were able to help over 140 kids. Individual Rats also donated much needed items, such as hygiene products for babies. More

Charles River Gives Back with the Greater Boston Food Bank

By volunteering 2.5 hours on 3 different Wednesday nights, Charles River Rugby was able to help feed a family of 4 for over 5 years! The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and distributes upwards of 48 million pounds of food per year to local organizations. Their mission distribute 60 million pounds and thus be able to provide one meal a day to every person in need in eastern Massachusetts. To do this, they need over 25,000 volunteers a year. ... More

Meet Jamie Carillo

Jamie Carrillo’s impressive rugby playing career began in 2008 at Bentley University, but her understanding and interest in the game began when she was attending high school in Zurich, Switzerland. Her high school did not have a women’s team, but once at Bentley she took advantage of the opportunity to begin playing herself and feel address a bit of homesickness she had of Europe after she returned to the US....
